Brighton Newsletter Spring 2009

Welcome to the spring edition of Brighton RSL’s magazine ‘Brighton News’.

At last, Spring is here. The days are longer, the weather warmer, the water sparkling… and there’s no better place to be than at Brighton Le Sands. Next time you’re down in the area be sure to drop into Brighton RSL where you can enjoy delicious Australian and Asian cuisine at great prices in the Bayview Terrace Restaurant, a light meal in the café or a refreshing drink at the bar. In the meantime, I invite you to read this newsletter to see what we have in store for you in the lead up to Christmas.

As you’d expect, we have a great day lined up for all dads on Fathers’ Day and a big afternoon of fun on Melbourne Cup Day. As well as great live entertainment every week, you can catch the NRL finals live on our big screens, enjoy a few special events and win cash, seafood and meat platters in our weekly promotions.

At Brighton RSL we welcome all members,  guests and their children into a warm and friendly environment. If you haven’t already joined the Club, you can sign up at our reception desk or on line by visiting www.brightonrsl.com.au. An annual membership is just $10 and when you consider all the discounts and great benefits you’ll receive, you’ll quickly realise that a Brighton RSL membership is the best decision you’ll make all year!

Sadly, two of our valued Brighton RSL members recently passed away. Don Gurnett, who was extensively involved in the Brighton Le Sands Sub Branch; and a former club Director and welfare officer, John Tonkies, will both be missed by management, staff and members alike. Our sincere sympathies are extended to the families of Don and John at this time.

See you round the club!

Scott Wheelihan
